Town of Alfred Fueling February Making a Difference
"One Nickel at a Time"!
This program is for ALFRED RESIDENTS ONLY and is administered through the General Assistance Office and available only between November through March. The Policy states that no one household will receive more than 300 gallons per heating season. Please note the policy has changed and that this program is now on an "emergency basis only." Please read the new policy to see if you meet the new guidelines.
The spending of the funds in this program will be overseen by the Board of Selectmen and administered by the General Assistance Staff. Eligibility will be on an "emergency basis" only and based on income as set by the Eligibility Income Schedule. Applicants must go through an application process by filling out an application (form has been approved by the Selectmen) and decisions and notice of decision will be given within 24 hours.
This program is funded by donations only. Please put your returnable bottles and cans in the Fueling February trailer at the Transfer Station on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, at the Fueling February shed located at the Alfred Parish Church or in the Alfred Town Hall lobby Fueling February box. Monetary donations are also accepted!
