Are you interested in exploring Maine this summer? Starting July, 2020, PML patrons can borrow a vehicle pass for day-use to Maine State Parks and Historic Sites. This pass is made possible by a generous gift of the Friends of Maine State Parks. Passes can be checked out for three days, and allow a vehicle holding up to 17 people entrance to many state parks and historic sites, including Ferry Beach. 

Rules: 

  • 3 day checkout
  • No renewals
  • Covers entrance fee only
  • Pass is not accepted at some locations

 Please note that passes are not accepted at Acadia National Park, Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Baxter State Park, Maine Wildlife Park, Peacock Beach, Penobscot Narrows Observatory, Penobscot River Corridor, Scarborough Beach, Songo Lock or Swan Island. View a list of participating parks here.

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Parsons Memorial Library is to provide materials and services that fulfill
educational, informational, cultural and recreational needs of the entire community
in a welcoming and respectful atmosphere.

Free downloadable eBooks for a variety of e-readers are available by signing up for a Portland Public Library card. Residents of York County are eligible for a free card through the Partner Library (PAL) program. Membership in the PPL gives access to a number of online services. This program also offers downloadable audiobooks.

 Friends of the Library ongoing book sale in the library Reading Room. Hardcovers $1.00, Paperbacks .50 Fill a PML tote bag with books for $12.00. All proceeds support library programs. 

The Friends continue to fund a discount museum pass. Up to 4 people can use the pass to the Children’s Museum of Maine and only have to pay 50 percent of the fee for entry

Preschool Story-time. Tuesdays at 10 am.

 Friends of the Library: 1st Wednesday of each month at 7 pm

 Book Discussion: 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.

 Library Board of Director’s Meeting: 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 pm
