Mission Statement
To continually improve the quality of water and services provided to residents and businesses of the Town of Alfred.

History
The Alfred Water Company was incorporated on October 3, 1911 when they established a system to provide fire protection for the village and mills.  Over the years the system was expanded where needed.
Alfred Water District was organized April 10, 2000, becoming a Quasi-Municipal Corporation when it purchased all the assets of the Alfred Water Company for one dollar.  The District began serving the public on June 15, 2001.  Although the District is a separate entity from the Town, it does provide important fire protection services to the Town of Alfred.
The District has updated and improved much of the infrastructure and now provides drinking water to approximately 325 customers and fire protection water to the town.
